Privacy and analytics preferences

Last updated: 15 October 2026

This website is provided by Cihan Taylan. You can contact cihantaylan@cihantaylan.com with questions. Analytics is optional; declining does not affect your access to content or contact links.

What is measured with your permission?

Google Analytics 4 is used to understand page visits, transitions from articles to architecture consulting and clicks on email links. These clicks do not represent sent emails, customer inquiries or sales. Advertising personalization and Google advertising signals are disabled.

The event fields we send contain a known page path, fixed page title, language, content/service identifier and contact method. URL queries and fragments are removed; the referring address is reduced to its origin. Names, email addresses, email subjects and message bodies are not included in analytics events. Network requests to Google also carry technical information needed for the connection, such as an IP address and browser information.

What is stored in your browser?

Your allow or decline preference is saved in this domain’s local storage as analytics-consent-v1. It can remain until you change it or clear browser data. Saving this preference does not contact Google. When you allow analytics, Google Analytics may use first-party _ga and _ga_* cookies. This site sets their expiry to 30 days without automatically extending it on each visit.

When you follow an article link to consulting, a fixed content label in the link adds that article’s title to the prepared email. This feature works independently of analytics consent and does not send the message. The label contains no visitor identifier; other query values are not copied into your message.

Changing your choice

Use “Analytics preferences” in the footer to allow analytics or turn it off. The Google Analytics script is not loaded before you agree. Turning it off stops new measurement events and clears this site’s Google Analytics cookies. It does not recall data already sent to Google. Clearing browser data makes the site ask for your preference again.

Service providers and contact

Google may process analytics data on its service infrastructure, including outside Türkiye. See the links below for Google’s data use and privacy information. Loading this website also sends a technical HTTP request to the hosting provider; the analytics preference on this page controls Google Analytics measurement.

Contact about privacy

An email link opens your own email app. A message you send is used to assess and respond to your inquiry; its contents are not sent to Google Analytics. You can use the same address for questions about privacy or your data.
